Current Projects

When I began my orchestration studies I decided to write a woodwind quintet, a string quartet, and a brass quintet so I can become familiar with the instrument classes I don’t play. Having finished my woodwind quintet and string quartet, this semester I plan to complete this project by writing a brass quintet. In this piece I will experiment with extended brass techniques such as slap tongue, flutter tongue, and singing while playing.

After finishing this project I plan to start a small ensemble piece for piano, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel, and marimba. This piece will use a more minimalistic style while employing extended techniques such as bowed mallet instruments and playing on the resonator pipes.
